If You Only Knew…POB for kids

If you only knew…

When you're 8, you think everyone else has it figured out. You drop the puck, and someone’s already flying past you. You fumble the pass, and think: “Why can’t I do it like them?”

But what you don’t know is: Your hands and feet are learning to speak the same language.Your brain is working overtime just to balance and breathe. You’re not behind — you’re building.

When you're 10, you notice who’s getting more ice time. You might feel like you’re “just not good enough.”You start comparing yourself to others — and forgetting your own story.

But what you don’t know is:Your body is still growing into its own rhythm. You might hit your stride next month — or next year — and that’s okay. No one wins a Stanley Cup at 10. Development doesn’t have a clock.

When you're 13, things get even harder.Your body feels awkward. Your shot’s inconsistent. Your confidence comes and goes.

But what you don’t know is: Every elite athlete was once a kid who felt insecure. Growth is messy. Real skill takes time — and real heart ...you've already got that! You're not failing — you’re growing into the player you will be.

So if you ever think: “I’m not fast enough.”“I’m not strong enough.”“I’m not good enough.” Just remember:You haven’t even met the athlete you’re going to be.

👊 Keep showing up. Keep working hard. And keep believing — even when it’s hard.

Because if you only knew what’s coming? You’d never stop skating.
