For Associations

Board governance is the cornerstone to psychological safety in minor hockey.

Imagine how different a board meeting would look if youth representatives who were being mentored by directors, and consulted for advice and solutions, sat at the table.

#1 - Get youth voice activated and involved.

Kids know what's going on already so get them involved in the solutions.

#2 The Business of the Board

Minor Hockey Associations are run by boards who are in the business of providing a service to minors.

This has to be TOP OF MIND in all the dealings of the board.

That, and the legal responsibilities of the Directors on the board as provided by legislation and the Association's bylaws.

If your board members do not understand their liability and the legalities involved try board education such as Canadian Non-Profit Academy
