Kids know what's going on already so get them involved in the solutions.

#1 - Get youth voice activated and involved.

Youth Liaison Position

Have a Youth Liaison assigned to every team. Check in with players at least once a month.

Youth & Complaints

Include youth voice in concerns and complaints.

Youth Solutions

Include the youth in policy discussions and solutions.

Know the Signs

Know the signs like grooming. Get youth feedback ethically. They know what is going on before the adults do.

#2 The Business of the Board

Minor Hockey Associations are run by boards who are in the business of providing a service to minors.

This has to be TOP OF MIND in all the dealings of the board.

That, and the legal responsibilities of the Directors on the board as provided by legislation and the Association's bylaws.
